Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • Why Journey? Journey was designed to proclaim the love of God which comes to us through Jesus Christ and to proclaim in a way that, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, we can accept that love. The teams that minister the renewal weekends were formed to proclaim God's GOOD NEWS of love. Through God's grace and mercy, every parishioner is offered an opportunity for a total interior renewal.

  • Who may attend? Anyone over 18 years of age is invited to attend a JOURNEY retreat. JOURNEY is for anyone seeking spiritual renewal. You do not have to be a spiritual person to attend the retreat. In fact, many people attend because they are not as spiritual as they would like to be. This is an excellent opportunity for those who have stopped attending Mass or who have lost interest in the church as well as those seeking a closer and more authentic relationship with God. All participants will be welcomed and received with unconditional acceptance.

  • What can I expect on a JOURNEY weekend? The retreat weekend will include small group activities and interactions, prayer, and reflection by the members of the parish team. You may expect an opportunity, in a relaxed setting, to hear Christ's call to you, and to respond to His call to a deeper and closer relationship with God.

  • When and where? Our parish weekend retreats are offered twice a year in the spring and fall for both men and women. The retreats are held at the St. Therese Education and Parish Center Building and begin on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. and conclude on Sunday around 4:00 p.m. Meals are provided. Plus, there will be coffee and snack breaks. An overnight stay is part of the weekend. When staying the night, air mattresses are provided. Please bring your sleeping bag, blankets, and pillow. Also pack your toiletries, towels, medications, and any other personal items you need. If you have special concerns, spend the night at home and return early on Sunday morning. We ask that you please do not bring cell phones or watches.

  • How much does it cost? There is no cost to attend a JOURNEY weekend; the retreat is hosted by St. Therese and its parishioners.

  • Will there be an opportunity to attend Mass during the weekend? Your Sunday Mass obligation will be fulfilled while on a JOURNEY retreat.

  • How do I sign up? Complete the online registration form available through the links above.
